Attendance Policy

As a member of the Southern Local Little Indians, review our attendance policy for youth football and cheerleading in Salineville, Ohio. Understand our expectations, excused absences, and commitment guidelines to support a strong, team-oriented experience for all athletes in our community program.

At the Southern Local Little Indians, we believe consistent attendance is essential for building teamwork, skill development, and a strong sense of community among our youth football players and cheerleaders. This policy ensures all athletes can fully participate in practices, games, and events while fostering accountability and commitment.

  1. Attendance Expectations
All athletes are expected to attend all scheduled practices, games, and team events. Regular attendance helps ensure the team’s success and supports each athlete’s growth within the program.

  2. Excused Absences
Absences may be excused for reasons such as illness, family emergencies, or school-related conflicts. Parents or guardians must notify the head coach or team coordinator in advance, or as soon as possible, via email or phone to report an absence.

  3. Unexcused Absences
An unexcused absence occurs when an athlete misses a practice, game, or event without prior notification or a valid reason. Repeated unexcused absences may result in reduced playing time or limited participation in games, at the discretion of the coaching staff.

  4. Tardiness
Athletes are expected to arrive on time for all scheduled activities. If an athlete will be late, parents or guardians should inform the coach in advance. Chronic tardiness may be addressed by the coaching staff to ensure fairness to the team.

  5. Communication
Open communication between parents, athletes, and coaches is key. If an athlete faces challenges that may affect attendance, such as scheduling conflicts or personal circumstances, we encourage families to discuss these with the coach to find a solution that supports both the athlete and the team.

  6. Consequences of Non-Compliance
While we aim to be understanding, consistent failure to meet attendance expectations may lead to a meeting with the athlete, parents, and coaches to address the issue. In extreme cases, this could result in temporary suspension from team activities or removal from the program, as determined by the organization’s leadership.

Our goal is to create a positive and inclusive environment where every athlete can thrive. We appreciate the commitment of our families in helping us maintain a strong, united team.
